Historical Sites
Kusadasi is close to important historical sites such as the ruins of the spectacular ancient city of Ephesus, Temple of Artemis, House of Virgin Mary, Seven Sleepers, Didyma, Priene, and Miletos making it an ideal base for Aegean cruise ships
Selcuk, a small town 20 minutes away from Kusadasi, is one of the most visited tourists’ destinations within Turkey because of its closeness to Ephesus. There are also other places of interest in Selcuk including the Castle, the Basilica of St John and the Isa Bey mosque. Selcuk Market is held every Saturday from early in the morning until late at night.
Ephesus
The ruins of Ephesus take on a value and a special significance among the numerous sites of an archaeological interest. This is due to its inestimable artistic patrimony, its titanic heritage of history and culture, and the inexhaustible beauty and charm of its archaeological site.
Aphrodisias
The ancient city of Aphrodisias was once a small city in Caria, Asia Minor. It is located near the modern village of Geyre which is roughly 170 km from Kusadasi. Wander around the archaeological zone, and have a look at the theatre and the ruins of the Baths of Hadrian. A visit to the Museum which has a collection of sculptural treasures, Greco-Roman statues and ceramics dating from Bronze Age is a must.

Kusadasi is not only perfectly located near to significant historical sites it is also famous for shopping. A shopper’s paradise with an endless range of shops, bazaars and shopping centers offering excellent value in designer goods, carpets, leather, jewellery, souvenirs, silks and clothes. Many famous brands are available. The Grand Bazaar in Kusadasi is one of Turkey’s largest shopping treasure troves and a pleasure to explore.
Shopping
Soke Shopping Outlets Soke factory outlet shops are located approximately 30 minutes from Kusadasi, along the main road on the way to Bodrum. There are 4 outlets next to each other where you will find a range of stores including Quicksilver, Adidas, Nike, Benetton, Billabong, Levis and Toys R Us. The outlets can be reached by public transport from Kusadasi to Soke.
Beaches
There are one 17 km and three 10 km white sand beaches and luxurious beach clubs. Many beach clubs offer top-end services. Water sports such as the banana boat, water ski, Jet Ski, pedalos, and para sailing are available on some of the busier beaches and sun beds and umbrellas can be rented.
Kusadasi has four main beach clubs – Eleven’s, Jade, Miracle and Elias. By day you can lounge around on the big cushions and hammocks soaking up the sun and by night as the music gets louder you can dance until the early hours of the morning. A small entrance fee is charged, the price is usually higher at the weekends.
